Who was Drinkrow Baron?

Drinkrow Baron - Born 1794 Died Abt 1866

Drinkrow was my Great Great Uncle, born on my fathers side. Up to now I've discovered that he was quite a character. He was a pub landlord in the 18th century, his first pub was called The Old Buck Inn which was in Skipsea Brough, a small hamlet just outside the village of Skipsea, East Yorkshire, England. I have seen records of him being prosecuted at this establishment for keeping a house of ill repute and losing his license. The pub is now a private house.

Later he had a pub called The Board Inn which is in Skipsea itself and which is still a pub to this present day (24th February 2007) my brothers and I have recently dined there having a lovely sunday lunch, whilst soaking up the nostalgia of the time when Drinkrow would have been the landlord all those years before.

I've also discovered through searching the archives he was prosecuted a number of times for poaching, no doubt trapping game for making rabbit pies and stews for his pub guests to feast on in the days he was there.

On the other hand he must have had his good points because there was word that he was an active member of the 'Oddfellows Society' a charitable society, which at that time was an illegal organisation.
